About the Artist

Steve Feldman

Steve Feldman works as a freelance illustrator and artist from his studio/home overlooking the old Oregon Trail in rural northeast Oregon.

Some of the well known clients he has had the pleasure of working with include The New York Times, Random House, St. Martin's Press, Scholastic, Delacorte Press, Wright Group/McGraw Hill, Time Inc., Quest, Merk, Pfizer, Virgin, Chiquita and the Discovery Channel. Steve is a PAL (Published & Listed) member of the SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators).

With a keen interest in all things historical, Steve was excited from the start about The Adventures of Archaeological Doug and the prospect of visually creating ancient settings that were a combination of authentic features and speculative recreations infused with vivid characters past and present who bring the story to life. He eagerly looks forward to further Adventures of Archaeological Doug.

When not working Steve enjoys spending time with his family, community involvement and the many outdoor activities available in this area such as hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, backcounty skiing and his own extreme version of organic "no oil" gardening.
